The BSO promised we would return to Orchestra Hall after our wildly successful full-concert debut in April 2023. We are delivering on that promise in grand style, as we perform the “Resurrection” Symphony of Gustav Mahler, No. 2 in C Minor. This symphony serves to mourn and rejoice, as Mahler buries the hero of his “Titan” Symphony No. 1 and raises him from the dead.
The BSO will take the stage with singers from the Angelica Encore Choral Ensemble, the Normandale Concert Choir, and the Twin Cities Catholic Chorale. The BSO will also share the stage with vocal soloists Ilah Raleigh and Sofia Ardalan, who provide the text. Keen listeners will remember the final six minutes from this symphony, which are used in the recent biopic about composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein
Come and experience the massive orchestra in the environment this work deserves: Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis.
