Manny Laureano, Music Director & Conductor
Michael Sutton, Violin & Conductor
Join the BSO as we celebrate two luminaries of music history, Leonard Bernstein and Claude Debussy. We will observe the 100th anniversary of Bernstein’s birth and Debussy’s death by playing some of their most memorable works, along with a word or two from the podium. With a suite from Candide arranged by Charlie Harmon, and the evocative La mer, we will celebrate these milestones in style. In order to round out the festivities, our concertmaster, Michael Sutton, will play the A Minor Violin Concerto of J.S. Bach, serving as conductor and soloist.
The Program
Leonard Bernstein – Overture to Candide
Leonard Bernstein, arr. Charlie Harmon – Suite from Candide
Johann Sebastian Bach – Violin Concerto No. 1 in A Minor, BWV 1041
Claude Debussy – La mer
