When and Where

Gideon Ives Auditorium at the Minnesota Masonic Heritage Center

The BSO will conclude its sixty-first season with a concert guaranteed to get you thinking outside the box… or the galaxy! We’ll start off by honoring American composer Leonard Bernstein with a performance of his beloved Overture to West Side Story. After we present violist Celine Bares, this year’s Grand Prize Winner of the MNSOTA Mary West Solo Competition, the BSO will end the season with the full forces necessary to bring to you The Planets, by English composer Gustav Holst, with help from the Normandale College Concert Choir and Angelica Encore Choral Ensemble.

Program

Leonard Bernstein, arr. Maurice Peress – Overture to West Side Story

Paul Hindemith – Zwischen Berg und tiefem Tal from Der Schwanendreher
Celine Bares, Viola; Winner of the MNSOTA Mary West Solo Competition
