Annual Benefit Recital

The Annual Benefit Recital provides patrons with the unique chance to get up close and personal with the musicians of the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra while raising funds to support the mission of the BSO. The event features refreshments during the social time that lets patrons and musicians mingle, followed by a very special time of music and dialogue with Michael Sutton and other musicians of the BSO.

The next Benefit Recital is September 22, 2019 at the Black Box Theater at the Bloomington Center for the Arts, and features the Solerna Winds, and Michael Sutton, violin, with Lara Bolton, piano. Purchase tickets today.

The Solerna Winds

Solerna Winds is a chamber ensemble made up of Charlotte Bartholomew (flute), Megan Dvorak (oboe), Chelsea Kimpton (clarinet), Rebecca Jyrkas (horn), and Emma Plehal (bassoon).  Formed in February 2018, the group has performed recitals at Homewood Studios in North Minneapolis and Art Works in Eagan as well as appearing on the St. John’s (Minneapolis) Music Series and a benefit concert for Beyond Type Run.  Individually, they have served as regular members of the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra, Mankato Symphony, Mississippi Valley Orchestra and Saint Cloud Symphony Orchestra; have toured with Ameriikan Poijat and Lorie Line; and performed as substitutes or extra musicians with groups such as the Minnesota Orchestra, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Minnesota Opera Orchestra, Des Moines Symphony Orchestra, Wayzata Symphony and Linden Hills Chamber Orchestra.
